AllSync Application Examples

This page presents practical use cases for AllSync – from simple data backup to automated synchronization.

General

  • Data synchronization between two computers
  • Data mirroring between two computers
  • Data mirroring from multiple computers in a network
  • Perform data backup and automatically shut down Windows
  • Archiving old data
  • Data backup into a ZIP file

Automated copy operations using the Scheduler

  • Daily data mirroring
  • Hourly data mirroring
  • Data backup from Monday to Friday
  • Data synchronization at Windows startup
  • Data backup at Windows shutdown
  • Data backup when connecting an external hard drive
  • Data mirroring when work data changes
  • Data synchronization upon network connection

Data synchronization between two computers

  • Task:
You work partly on a desktop computer and a notebook. Files and folders are created, modified, and deleted on both computers. These changes should now be transferred to both computers.
  • Procedure:
AllSync detects the differences and synchronizes the data between the desktop and notebook so that both computers contain the same data.

Data mirroring between two computers

  • Task:
The data from one computer should be mirrored to another computer in the network.
  • Procedure:
AllSync creates an exact copy of the data on the other computer. Only necessary changes are applied to the target computer without transferring the entire dataset again.

Data mirroring from multiple computers in a network

  • Task:
The data from multiple computers in the network should be mirrored to a backup server.
  • Procedure:
AllSync mirrors the data from each computer to the backup server.

Perform data backup and automatically shut down Windows

  • Task:
After working on the computer, the modified data should be backed up and Windows shut down automatically.
  • Procedure:
Use the Shortcut Assistant in AllSync to create a shortcut to your backup profile on the Windows desktop. You can start the backup via this desktop shortcut, and AllSync will then shut down Windows.

Archiving old data

  • Task:
Files older than a certain age should be automatically moved to the backup server in the network.
  • Procedure:
AllSync moves all files older than a specified age to the backup server in the network.

Data backup into a ZIP file

  • Task:
A data backup should be performed into a single ZIP file.
  • Procedure:
AllSync compresses all files into a ZIP file.

Daily data mirroring

  • Task:
Data should be mirrored daily from a file server to a backup server in the background.
  • Procedure:
The AllSync Scheduler runs as a service on the file server and starts the mirroring process at a specified time each day.

Hourly data mirroring

  • Task:
The data from a file server should be mirrored to a backup server every hour.
  • Procedure:
The AllSync Scheduler starts the mirroring process between the file server and backup server every hour.

Data backup from Monday to Friday

  • Task:
A data backup should be performed every evening at 10 PM from Monday to Friday.
  • Procedure:
The AllSync Scheduler starts the backup at 10 PM from Monday to Friday.

Data synchronization at Windows startup

  • Task:
When the computer starts, the data should be automatically synchronized with a server.
  • Procedure:
The AllSync Scheduler automatically starts the data synchronization with the server when Windows starts.

Data backup at Windows shutdown

  • Task:
The data from a computer should be automatically backed up to the backup server when Windows shuts down.
  • Procedure:
The AllSync Scheduler runs in the background and automatically backs up all data to the backup server when Windows shuts down, then shuts down the computer.

Data backup when connecting an external USB hard drive

  • Task:
When an external USB hard drive is connected, a data backup should be performed automatically.
  • Procedure:
The AllSync Scheduler runs in the background and automatically starts the backup as soon as the external USB hard drive is connected.

Data backup when work data changes

  • Task:
When a certain number of file changes occur, the work data should be backed up automatically.
  • Procedure:
The AllSync Scheduler runs in the background and monitors changes to your work data. Once a defined number of changes is reached, the modified data is backed up automatically.

Data Synchronization on Network Connection

  • Task:
As soon as a network connection to a specific computer is established, a data synchronization with that computer should be performed.
  • Procedure:
The AllSync Scheduler runs in the background and automatically starts the data synchronization as soon as a network connection to the computer is established.
